What is Chiropractic Health Care?
The chiropractic model of health, first developed by Daniel D. Palmer in 1895, centers around the concept that the human body is designed to strive towards living in a healthy state.

Palmer suggested that the human body contains all of the necessary intelligence to heal and self-regulate if given the chance. This theory is unlike what most of us were exposed to as children in the industrialized world. “Conventional wisdom” and modern western medicine teaches us that healing results from taking a medication. If you have a symptom, a pill is necessary to reduce the symptom.

Chiropractic theory implies just the opposite: that the healing force comes from within the body.

There are exceptions to Palmer’s rule, but the basic premise is a universal truth: bioelectrical energy from the brain, passing through the spinal cord and spinal nerves, provides the source of power in life and health. Palmer observed that if the flow of this energy is obstructed or irritated, disturbance or “disease” will result in the body.

Chiropractic theory suggests that normalizing the flow of electrical impulses, or letting the nervous system be “at ease,” is an essential step in the process of becoming and staying well. Dr. Tony’s health philosophy has been built around this historic theory because it has been proven time and time again.

Chiropractic is one of the fasting growing health care professions in the western world. It will double in size in the next 10 years, meeting the demands of a public that wants a safe alternative to relieve human pain and suffering.

Are Chiropractor real Doctors?
There are two categories of doctors: physicians and Ph.Ds (doctors of an academic science).

If licensed within their State or providence, doctors who are degreed as a physician have the privilege to practice and provide clinical treatment.

There are eight basic types of physicians:

  1. Doctor of Medicine – MD
  2. Doctor of Chiropractic – DC
  3. Doctor of Naturopathy – ND
  4. Doctor of Optometry – OD
  5. Doctor of Osteopathy – DO
  6. Doctor of Podiatry – DPM
  7. Doctor of Medical Dentistry – DMD/DDS
  8. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine – DVM

A relatively unknown fact is that a chiropractor’s four-year doctorate degree (DC) is comparable to the training received by a medical doctor (MD).

Do I have to keep coming back?
Chiropractic care isn’t meant to be something that requires you to return to our offices again and again in hopes of achieving results. Most of our clients feel results speak for themselves, and choose to stick to a regular schedule for maintenance – they simply have the desire to live pain-free!

Chiropractors recommend lifetime care because it’s the best measure to ensure spinal health and to feel good. Most people think chiropractors just treat pain. In fact, there are two additional types of care we provide beyond the “pain relief ” stage.

  • Corrective care is for those who have structural or alignment problems
  • Supportive care is for those who wish to keep their spine functioning at an optimum for a lifetime

If you have a painful spinal condition, a chiropractor’s first goal is to get you out of pain. But our long-term objective is to correct the underlying cause of the problem. Once a structural problem is corrected, maintenance adjusting is recommended to keep your spine healthy, in balance, and to promote long-term health.

As to the duration of your care, the choice is yours.

How big is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the largest alternative health care profession in the world. 65,000 chiropractors in the United States treat more than 90 million patients each year.

Chiropractors focus on the individual, with special emphasis on treatment of the spine and nervous system.

Health is achieved by hands-on treatment, applying specific adjustments to the spine in order to remove abnormal pressure. This process helps restore function and promote health.

For over 5,000 years, mankind has manipulated the spine to treat physical disorders. Modern chiropractic has refined these methods, increasing effectiveness and safety to promote health and wellness worldwide.
